Compare periods before comparing economies

Annual GDP and income cover 2025, unemployment covers August 2026, and regional price parities cover 2024. Those are the newest reference periods in the acquired regional files, rather than one common observation date. Each profile repeats the period and producer beside each value. The GDP/income file was updated April 9, 2026; state labor was published September 18; prices were published February 19.

What each profile contains

Profiles show annual output and income histories, monthly unemployment and payroll histories, industry shares in nominal GDP, national comparisons and separate positions in the seven economic rankings. GDP is workplace-based output; personal income is resident-based income; payrolls count jobs and unemployment classifies resident people. The dataset page documents original codes, price bases, FIPS identifiers and CSV columns.

Coverage beyond states

County, city and metro profiles are outside this acquired dataset. State values are never reassigned to those places. BEA’s discontinued official metro GDP and income products require separately documented county aggregation for any future derived values. See regional sources and geographic limits.
